Emergency Locksmith Call‑Out in Ware – Keys Left on the Train

Emergency locksmith call‑outs often happen at the worst possible times, and this job in Ware was no exception.

I received a call from a gentleman who had just realised he’d left his keys on the train while travelling home. He was understandably stressed, knowing he’d soon be arriving at his house with no way to get inside.

Fast Response in Ware

I reassured him straight away and set off immediately. Thanks to being local, I was able to reach his home address within 10 minutes.

In fact, I arrived at the same time he did, which came as a huge relief to him after a stressful journey. Knowing help was already there made a big difference.

Non‑Destructive Entry & Lock Change

Once on site, I explained the options clearly and got to work. Using non‑destructive entry techniques, I was able to get him back into his house without any damage to the door or frame.

As the keys had been lost on public transport, we agreed it was best to change the locks straight away to ensure his home was secure. The lock change was completed there and then, giving him full peace of mind before the night was over.

Another Happy Customer

By the end of the job, he was safe, secure, and very happy, especially with how quickly everything was resolved from the initial phone call to safebusters.

Situations like this can be stressful, but a calm, fast response can turn a bad evening into a manageable one.

Milners Double Door Safe

This old Milners double door safe, probably turn of the century…Picked open this safe.

This old Milners Double Door safe, although not exactly sure of the date of manufacture, I would date at early 1900’s due to the fact it has brass fittings. Thankfully, I didn't have to open this particular safe as it was already unlocked when we got there. The customer had lost the one and only key they had for it, so we were tasked with taking the back pan off (inside cover), removing the lock and taking it back to our workshop to change the combination of levers around so if the previous key was found it would no longer work. We then had the painstaking task of cutting a new key by hand, which took 3 hours to complete - this was not just your standard Yale key! Once the key had been cut by hand we were then able to copy a second one by machine. Armed with two new keys, we returned to site to re-fit, and voila, we now have a 100 year old lock working better then most locks, and in my opinion more secure than modern locks. A true representation of when we made things with pride rather than mass produced.
